S.C. Choudhury : Sri S C Choudhury graduated from Regional College of Education, Bhubaneswar in 1968. He is currently working as a Chairman at Vikash Educational Charitable Trust, Bhubaneswar. He joined Indian Revenue Service in 1973, and started his career in the West Coast in Anti-Smuggling Operations in the hay day of Smuggling. He held many important charges in the Customs, Excise, Service Tax and Narcotics Departments, including anti-smuggling, Central Excise Law & Administration; Customs Law & Administration, Policy Planning and Tax Research. He has worked in all Metropolitan Cities like Bombay, Calcutta and Delhi and is presently posted at Visakhapatnam as Commissioner of Customs, Visakhapatnam.He has worked in the top decision making body of the Tax Administration, viz., Central Board of Excise to Customs, for Six Years, as Director In - charge of Customs Administration and Policy Formation.He was named by Business To - Day as “One of the Policy Makers of the Country.” During his career he has extensively traveled in India, Europe and U.K.Sri Choudhury would like to be known more for his work outside Tax Administration.Along with his friends he has adopted three Government High Schools for their qualitative improvement.They have set up large computer centers in these schools, provided additional teachers, equipment, infrastructure and furniture.One of these schools is in Bhubaneswar.He facilitates in bringing Scholarships for bright and poor students of Orissa from Foundation For Excellence, USA; North South Foundation, USA; Jindal Charitable Trust, Bangalore; SEEDs, USA and many other benevolent persons. Sri S.C.Choudhury is dedicated to the field of Education and Innovation.
